A mid 19th century navigators Octant by Stevenson & Harris, Aberdeen.
A fine mid 19th century navigators Octant, brass frame with 'T' frame design. Engraved on the arc Stevenson & Harris, Aberdeen.
The ivory scale is engraved from -5 degrees to 120 degrees and reading to 108 degrees. The index arm vernier scale reads from 0 to 30 seconds of arc.
This antique Octant is contained within its original hardwood box. It comes complete with all its accessories - two telescopes, one eye piece sun filter and mirror adjusting tool.
